“He was one of us. In South Korea, the suicide of a robot civil servant has raised many questions. It appears to have jumped from a staircase late on Thursday afternoon, June 20. The android had been working for almost a year, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., at Gumi Town Hall.

He helped municipal employees send out administrative documents and also delivered mail. He even had his own civil servant card. But on Thursday June 20, the robot was behaving strangely. He spun around at the top of a staircase. And then he let himself down.

The metal block shattered some ten steps below. It was found inert by witnesses, who were questioned by investigators. The municipality has launched an investigation to shed light on the incident. Parts of the robot were sent to its Californian manufacturer for analysis... Source
