abstract = {NeuroIS uses tools such as electroencephalogram (EEG) that can be used to measure high brainwave frequencies that can be linked to human anxiety. Past research showed that computer anxiety influences how users perceive ease of use of a learning management system (LMS). Although computer anxiety has been used successfully to evaluate the usability of LMS, the main data collection mechanisms proposed for its evaluation have been questionnaires. Questionnaires suffer from possible problems such as being inadequate to understand some forms of information such as emotions and honesty in the responses. Quantum-based approaches to consciousness have been very popular in the last years including the quantum model reduction in microtubules of Penrose and Hameroff (1995). The objective of the chapter is to propose an architecture based on a NeuroIS that collects data by using EEG from users and then use the collected data to perform analytics by using a quantum consciousness model proposed for computer anxiety measurements for the usability testing of a LMS. © 2018, IGI Global. Many military service members suffer from stress. Sixty Soldiers participated in a study designed to test receptivity to stress management techniques. Preliminary analyses of surveys and a focus group suggested that participants not only liked practicing relaxation techniques but would also continue practicing these after completion of the present study.

An alternative is to use modified 3D games to create new and clinically useful immersive environments on head mounted displays. The aim of this paper is to summarize the first 18 months of work at the Cyberpsychology Lab. of the University of Quebec in Outaouais on the applications of virtual reality (VR) in the treatment of anxiety disorders. Three studies are summarized: a comparison between phobics and non-phobics immersed in VR environments, a clinical trial on the effectiveness of 3D games to treat phobias in adults and a clinical trial with children. Presence ratings are very high, as well as the graphic qualities and the flexibility of the programs. Results showed a dramatic improvement on general questionnaires and on measures of overt approach/avoidance of phobic stimuli. © 2002 IEEE.},
